The name says it plainly: this is Pinocchio, and he's dressed in luxury. Luxe Liar is the first Pinocchio-inspired sculpture in the collection — a bust of the iconic marionette, built from upcycled Louis Vuitton materials and various leathers, with special surface treatments that create a wood-grain effect that captures the essence of the wooden puppet at the heart of the story.
The tension between the luxury materials and the wood grain finish is the whole concept. Pinocchio wants to be a real boy; this piece takes a wooden character and covers him in the most refined materials available, then reminds you what he's made of underneath. It's warm, witty, and genuinely beautiful in person.
