Jaywood Crow Machina – A Hybrid Bird Born From Metal and Machine

Jaywood Crow Machina is the latest addition to my upcycled series, a mechanical bird forged from reclaimed metals, salvaged components, and fragments of old technology. This piece merges nature and machine into one hybrid avian form.

The silhouette of this sculpture is intentionally unfamiliar yet strangely recognizable.
Jaywood Crow Machina blends the defining characteristics of three distinct birds:

  • Blue Jay – bold posture, sharp lines, and confident head structure

  • Woodpecker – elongated movement and forward-driving form

  • Crow – dark elegance, intelligence, and a grounded presence

Combined, they create a species that never existed in the wild

Dimensions:

  • Height: 21 inches

  • Width: 13 inches

  • Depth: 13 inches
